Key Responsibilities

You will be expected to perform the duties associated with the dispensing of compounded and non-compounded products.

The successful candidate will assist in the day-to-day activities of the ‘Dispensing’ function of the Pharmacy Services department, including coordination of the activities of the Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Assistants assigned to support the dispensing function.

You will ensure that systems and processes for dispensing are efficient and comply with all the associated legal requirements, including RPSGB requirements. In conjunction with the other Pharmacists of the Pharmacy Services Team, you will liaise with the clinical teams at customer hospitals to clarify patients’ requirements regarding compounded and non-compounded products and prescription issues (including formulation queries).

In association with other Pharmacists of the Pharmacy Services Team, you will provide appropriate Pharmacist shift cover in order to meet the ‘Responsible Pharmacist’ legal requirements for dispensing activities.

Requirements

• Registered Pharmacist
• Clear knowledge of the legal requirements for prescription management in accordance with the RPSGB
• Experience in aseptic compounding and/ or pharmaceutical manufacturing is desirable
