Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Location: Elstree

Job Description - Summary of Job :

To provide both Reactive and Preventative maintenance to the Elstree Site including all HVAC Systems, Boilers, Pumps, Valves, Air Handling Units, BMS Controls , Small Power, Lighting, etc. To assist and support the Facilities Manager in providing full facilities services to the internal users. This will include, Mechanical, Electrical, plumbing and fabric tasks as directed by the facilities Manager and some other duties as requested.

Job Description - Essential Duties & Responsibilities : The essential duties of the postholder are set out below:

To maintain an adequate PPM regime for the Plant and Equipment at Elstree

To respond in a timely manner to reactive requests for work

To have the ability to prioritize workloads

To be able to understand the fundamentals of HVAC Plant and Equipment, particularly in relation to Clean Room or similar Operations.

To have a good understanding of the requirements for the ACOP L8 Control of Legionellosis

To have a basic understanding of BMS Systems

To have a responsibility for the Health and Safety of both themselves and Others

To understand the Permit to Work System

To understand the need for a LOTO System

To be capable of working upon their own initiative

To have the ability to Manage Sub Contractors as required

 

Job Description – Requirements: The postholder would be expected to fill the following criteria:

To have a technical background preferably with an Electrically qualified bias and to have worked within similar environments. They should be a Hands On team player with the ability to function within a relatively flat management structure in a quality driven organization. The ability to use Microsoft Office for e-mail, simple spreadsheets and Word Documentation is required to ensure adequate communication can be maintained and shared.

The role is such that a wide range of experience is preferred so someone with a good wide ranging overall experience in the maintenance environment would be a suitable candidate. The ability to act upon their initiative is a pre-requisite of the role, as is a familiarity with all usual building Services, including:

• Small Power
• Controls
• Boilers
• AHU's
• BMS Systems
• Legionella Control
• Small plumbing works
• Fire Systems
• Environmental Controls and Energy Saving
• A firm understanding of Preventative and Reactive Maintenance Tasks as allied to Building Services Installations
• The ability to source and Order spares as required with the assistance of the facilities Manager
• A good understanding of the Health and Safety At Work Requirements including Permits to Work, LOTO Systems, the Control of Sub Contractors,etc.
• They ideally should have experience of HEPA filtration and / or clean room systems.
