Key Responsibilities
- To carry out final checking of dispensed items and wholesale orders according to approved protocols and provide assistance to warehouse personnel when necessary
- To supervise and participate in the dispensing and supply of medicinal products in compliance with the requirement of the medicines Act, “Medicines, Ethics and Practice Guide” published by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain and Guide to Good Distribution Practice.
- Ensure activities meet with and integrate with organisational requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies and general duty of care.
- To supervise and perform duties associated with the control and management of prescriptions according to approved procedures to ensure compliance with the requirement of the Medicines Act and “Medicines, Ethics and Practice Guide” published by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain.
- To ensure compliance to the standards and maintenance of Pharmacy registration and Wholesale Dealers Licence.
- To closely supervise the work of the Dispensers and to ensure that they are able to perform their duties.
- To provide advisory service on pharmaceutical matters to logistics staff, nurses and customer services and to respond to pharmaceutical queries from patients and customers.
- To participate in the training and development programme for Pharmacy department staff.
- To perform duties in compliance with specific service contracts.
- Assist in the preparation of Standard Operating Procedures.
- To assist in the preparation of reports for the Company, customers and Pharmaceutical companies.
- To participate in rota for working on Bank Holidays as and when necessary.
- To cover the duties in the absence of another technician.
- To ensure that safe systems of work are practiced with due regard to Health and Safety, COSHH Regulations, Guide to Good Distribution Practice and National Pharmaceutical Standards.
- To carry out any other reasonable duties defined by the Pharmacy Manager or Pharmacist within the overall function, commensurate with the grading and level of responsibility of the job
Requirements
- Supervising in a pharmaceutical function within a high growth company.
- An awareness of, or experience in, the healthcare sector and the rapid developments that are taking place.
- Appropriate Pharmaceutical qualification, i.e. C & GLI or BTEC or NVQQ Level 3 or Apoth.
- Appropriate Accuracy Checking qualification approved by the Company.
- From 01/07/2011 be registered with RPSGB and complete Continuing Professional Development as per Society guidelines.
