 Working under the supervision of the Dispensing Services Manager, perform the duties associated with the dispensing of all medicinal products for homecare patients. Professional liaison with both healthcare professionals at customer sites and in-house colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake professional duties relating to the dispensing of both non-compounded “off-the-shelf” products (including but not limited to fertility, immunoglobulins, Factor VIII therapies, line flushes, antibiotic vials and enteral feeds) and aseptically prepared products (including, but not limited to PN, IV antibiotics, cytotoxics and pre-filled flushes) for homecare patients. 
• Co-ordinate the activities of Pharmacy Technicians & Pharmacy Assistants assigned to support the dispensing. 
• Liaise with the other Dispensing Pharmacists to ensure efficient use of resources and to optimize operating practices across the sections.  
• Liaise with clinical teams at customer hospitals to clarify patients' requirements regarding homecare products and prescription issues. 
• Assist in the prioritisation of the dispensing workload to ensure efficient use of staff and other resources in line with achieving business targets. 
• Work with the Dispensing Services Manager to develop and implement professional management systems in line with RPSGB requirements. 
• Maintain a satisfactory awareness of current trends on pharmaceutical issues and be committed to continual professional development. 
• Carry out other associated professional duties as required, including the input of specialist knowledge into the development of new business opportunities. 
• Participate in the ‘out of hours rota’ to provide pharmaceutical services as required.

Requirements

• RPSGB Registration
• Minimum of 2 years experience
